Vigil Planned for Teen Shot in Front of Clinton Store

Family and friends will gather Wednesday night to remember a teen fatally shot in Prince George's County last weekend.

A candlelight vigil for 18-year-old Darius Turner will be held at 7p.m. at the Forest Hill Apartments in Oxon Hill. Turner was shot in front of a grocery store in Clinton, Md., early Saturday morning.

Police have arrested 19-year-old Darryl Sherwood Adamson in connection with Turner's death. Adamson has been charged with first degree murder.

"I believe he and my son had a run-in in the past," said Travina Salmond, Turner's mother. "I'm talking about years ago."

Adamson is currently being held at the Department of Corrections.

Turner, a recent high school graduate, was considering enrolling in school to study computers.

Police are still seeking information about the car Adamson was allegedly riding in at the time of the shooting. It is described as a dark-colored, four-door sedan with dark-tinted windows.
