Video Shows Fight Between Bus Driver, Teen

The Maryland Transit Administration is investigating a fight between a Baltimore bus operator and a young woman that was captured on cell phone video and posted on YouTube.

The video shows the female driver grabbing the young woman, described as a student, around the arms and shoulders while the student tries to throw punches at her. Other passengers can be seen getting off the bus while someone behind the camera tells the operator, “You’re dead wrong lady, let that girl go.”

The video doesn’t show what happened before the fight, but the person who posted it on YouTube claims the driver told the teen to turn her music down. In the video, the driver says, “It wasn’t about that. It’s about being disrespectful.”

MTA police are interviewing the teenager involved, and the operator has been removed from service pending the investigation.

The MTA says, in these situations, drivers are trained to call for a supervisor.
