Victim Identified in Fatal Indian Head Highway Crash

The man killed in a crash on Indian Head Highway over the weekend has been identified as 60-year-old John Michael Rittenhouse of Waldorf.

Prince George's County Police released Rittenhouse's name Thursday.

Police say Rittenhouse was trying to turn left onto The Mall in Accokeek, Maryland around 1 a.m. Saturday when he was struck by a car heading north on Indian Head Highway, according to a preliminary investigation.

Rittenhouse was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car was injured and is expected to be OK.
