Va. Teacher Celebrates Anniversary With Flash Mob

Students serenade wife with Coldplay's "Yellow"

School teacher Eric Welch has set the bar very high for any husband who has an anniversary coming up.

On Friday night, Welch, a government teacher at JEB Stuart High School in Falls Church who is also the leader of a campaign to launch Northern Virginia's first public charter school, enlisted several dozen kids to flashmob his wife, Jill, to celebrate the couple's tenth anniversary.

The couple were scheduled to meet at a Ballston restaurant at 7:00 a.m. Beginning at 6:45, Welch assembled the flash mob members and headed to the restaurant.

As they got within earshot, one of the students turned on his trusty stereo and began blasting the song "Yellow," by Coldplay. As the students approached the outdoor table where Jill was sitting, they began singing along.
