Va. Man Fatally Stabs Woman, Then Stabs Himself

Police say a domestic-related incident left a woman dead and a man seriously injured in Leesburg, marking the city's first homicide of 2014.

The 31-year-old woman was found with stab wounds to her upper torso around 2 p.m. Friday in the area of 125 Clubhouse Drive SW. Nearby, a 43-year-old man suffering from what appeared to be self-inflicted stab wounds.

Both were transported to Fairfax-Inova Hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead. Police believe the man stabbed her in a domestic-related incident, then attempted to kill himself.

He remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition. Officials say the couple had two school-aged children, who were not at  home during Friday's incident.

Though police are referring to the man as a suspect, he has not yet been arrested or charged.
