A Virginia woman is being hailed as a hero for lifting a car off her father.
Alec Kornacki was working under his car Saturday in Glen Allen when a jack suddenly slipped and the car fell right on top of him.
His daughter Lauren found her father pinned to the ground.
The former basketball player and lifeguard jumped into action, lifting the ton-and-a-half car off him.
Alec Kornacki is in intensive care at VCU Medical Center.
Doctors said he has some broken ribs and other fractures, but it does not appear that there was any permanent damage.
