Heat Illnesses Reported at United House of Prayer Memorial Day Parade

Two dozen people suffered heat-related illnesses during an event for the United House of Prayer Annual Memorial Day Parade.

D.C. Fire and EMS officials said they responded to 7th Street Northwest and M Street Northwest for reports of multiple people suffering from the heat. Four people were transported, while another 20 patients were treated at the scene.

The officials said none of the injuries were considered critical.

Earlier Saturday, the parade closed several streets during the day. All roads should be open at this time.
