Missing Sisters, 5 and 8, Found Safe at Friend's House

Two missing sisters are back home after sneaking out of their home and into a friend's house overnight.

Prince William County Police say 5-year-old Jhosyn Alvarado and 8-year-old Fatima Alvarado simply got up in the middle of the night and left their Cara Drive home. The girls' mom told News4's Richard Jordan that her daughters typically sleep in her bedroom, but when she woke up Monday morning, they were gone.

Police searched door-to-door for the sisters for three hours, but it was ultimately social media that cracked the case. A family friend saw the girls had been reported missing and realized they did not have permission to be there. The police were called, and the girls' mother picked them up.

She says she's happy to have her two "mischievous" daughters home.
