Pepco Impersonators May Have Killed Md. Businessman

The men who killed a businessman in Bowie, Md., Wednesday may have been posing as utility workers, according to Prince George's County police.

Police were called to a home in the 13200 block of Livingstone Endeavor Drive at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday after a shooting there. David Williams, 44, died at the scene.

Two men wore blue utility worker outfits, police said.

"We believe the suspects were posing as Pepco workers," Prince George's County police spokeswoman Lt. Tammy Sparkman said.

It's unknown if Williams let them in to the home or if they got in through an unlocked entrance.

Police said the motive was robbery, News4's Darcy Spencer reported. They believe Williams was targeted for his money.

Police arrested John Fitzgerald Haston and Craig Stevens Brooks. They are charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.
