Two Homicides in NE Saturday

18-year-old, 22-year-old shot hours apart in separate incidents

The Metropolitan Police Department are investigating two separate homicides that took place hours apart Saturday morning in Northeast D.C.

The first killing took place shortly after midnight Saturday in the 1200 block of Simms Place, NE. Police found two victims, one of whom, 18-year-old Mico Briscoe, was pronounced dead of his injuries at a local hospital. The other victim, whose name is not known, was treated and released.

The second killing took place in the 700 block of 19th Street. Police responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 10 a.m. and found 22-year-old Joseph Mickens of Northeast, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
