Two bald eagles who got tangled up in a fence in Maryland were safely freed on Thursday by animal control workers, officials say.
The eagles were rescued about 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Clarksville, the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center said.
A photo shows the two brown-and-white birds on grass, on either sides of a fence.
“They were able to untangle and release the eagles without harm,” the animal center said in a Facebook post.
Late last year, a sheriff's lieutenant in Charles County, Maryland, rescued an injured bald eagle found on the side of a road. The eagle suffered from a broken right wing and was taken to Owl Moon Raptor Rescue to recover for about two months.
