Two people were arrested overnight Thursday after one allegedly punched a cab driver in the face and another stole his cab, police say.
The driver told police that he had several people yelling and arguing in his cab in the unit block of New York Avenue NE around 2 a.m. When he told them to get out, one snatched the driver's facecard as they exited the cab.
The driver followed them and was assaulted. A second person jumped into his cab and drove away.
Police were able to stop the two suspects a short distance away, authorities said.
