Tree Falls on NW DC Home; House Unstable

A tree crashed into a home in northwest Washington early Saturday morning, making the house unlivable.

The D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department said a tree landed on a home in the 2900 block of Kanawha Street, Northwest, shortly after 4 a.m. They said the residents were evacuated from the home and were not injured.

It was determined the house was so severely damaged that it was unstable. The residents will not be able to return until repairs can be made.
