Route 75 Closed After Fatal Crash in Frederick County

Two people were killed and three people were hurt when a tractor-trailer overturned onto a pickup truck on Route 75 in Frederick County, Maryland State Police said.

A tractor-trailer was traveling north on Route 75 in Libertytown about 2 p.m. Wednesday when it rounded a sharp curve and overturned onto a pickup truck traveling south.

Two people in the pickup truck were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the truck and the driver and a passenger in the tractor-trailer were taken to area hospitals.

Motorists should avoid the area as Route 75 is expected to be closed for hours.

The accident is under investigation.
