A tow truck driver was arrested in Woodbridge, Virginia, on Thursday after he struck a car owner with his truck, punched the man in the face and drove off, police say.
A 25-year-old man was inside a business in the 15600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway about 9 p.m. when he saw a tow truck operator hook up to his vehicle parked outside, Prince William County police said.
A woman, two children and a dog were inside the vehicle at the time.
The man ran outside and stood in front of the A&A Towing truck that 23-year-old Mohaned Zyoud was driving, police said.
Zyoud then struck the man with the truck, police said. The car owner wasn't injured. Then, when the man tried to open the driver's side door of the of the tow truck, Zyoud allegedly punched him in the face.
Zyoud eventually unhooked his truck from the car and drove off, police said.
Officers found Zyoud a short time later and arrested him. He was charged with attempted malicious wounding, assault and battery and misdemeanor hit-and-run.
Zyoud is being held on $20,000 bond. His court date is set for Sept. 19.
