Feel like ringing in the New Year as a millionaire? You still have a chance.
The Virginia State Lottery New Year's millionaire raffle is back. The Virginia Lottery says it still has about 80,000 tickets for the upcoming drawing. They will award three $1 million prizes. Ticket buyers are also eligible to win one of six $25,000 prizes. 300 others will win $500.
The drawing is set for New Year's Day. Tickets for the raffle are $20 apiece. There is no limit to how many you can buy, but only 330,000 will be sold.
Lottery Executive Director Paula Otto said Wednesday the lottery has sold more raffle tickets this year than it had at the same point last year. Otto says the limited number of tickets for sale gives ticket buyers the best odds of winning $1 million out of any game the lottery offers.
