Three men were arrested in the death of a man found fatally wounded at a Prince George's County gas station Wednesday, police said.
The victim, Rashad Clarke, was 18. Relatives said Clarke was a star on the baseball field, a good friend and a good brother.
Those relatives say he was defending a friend when he was killed. According to police, Clarke and a group of his friends got in a fight with another group. Clarke was stabbed and attacked with a hammer.
Sunday, Prince George's County Police announced they had arrested and charged three people with first- and second-degree murder: Kevin Ronaldo Pena-Lopez, 16, of Hyattsville; Jovani Rene Cruz, 23, of Hyattsville; and Jeyson Arturo Lazo-Argueta, 18, of Riverdale. Pena-Lopez is charged as an adult.
Relatives said that Clarke's friends tried to drive him to the hospital after the fight, but ran out of gas. They pulled Into a service station, where they called 911.
Police say there could be more arrests as the investigation continues. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been set up to donate for funeral costs.
