Thousands of Gallons of Sewages Flows Into Creek

Thousands of gallons of untreated wastewater end up in a Prince George’s County creek.

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission said the sewage entered Accokeek Creek from a manhole on Indian Head Highway near Piscataway Wastewater Treatment Plant.

They estimate more than 10,000 gallons of untreated wastewater entered the creek. They are trying to determine what caused the overflow.

The agency notified county and state health leaders.
