16-Year-Old Boy Charged in Stabbing Death of Mother's Boyfriend, Police Say

Police say the man had been involved in a dispute with another person who lives in the home

A 16-year-old boy is facing a murder charge after police say he stabbed his mother's boyfriend to death during a fight inside their Lanham, Maryland, home.

Officers were called to the 7000 block of Woodstream Terrace at 4 a.m. Thursday. 

Police say Taahir Butler and 53-year-old Herman Jackson had been involved in a fight. During the altercation, Butler shot Jackson several times with a BB gun and then stabbed him, according to police. 

Jackson was taken to the hospital, where he died a short time later. Police say Butler confessed to stabbing Jackson. 

Butler has been charged as an adult with first- and second-degree murder. 

He is being held without bond.
