Police: 15-Year-Old Boy Shot in Head in Basement of Maryland Home

A teenage boy is in grave condition after getting shot in the head inside a home in Prince George's County, Maryland, Wednesday, police say.

A pair of teens were hanging out in the basement of the house on Dorman Street just off of Route 50 in Landover, when a gun went off, police said.

Sources told News4 the teens, who are 15 and 16 years old, had the gun. The 15-year-old was shot in the head.

Police said the boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

"We're talking to the parties involved. We're trying to figure out what happened, what led up to the shooting. Was it horseplay or was it something greater? We're unclear right now," said Prince George's County Police Cpl. Lamar Robinson.

A grandfather was upstairs at the time, according to sources.
