Teen, Man Shot in Front of DC Rec Center

A teenager and a man were shot early Saturday morning in front of a recreation center in D.C.'s Navy Yard neighborhood, police say.

About 3:20 a.m., suspects in a dark colored vehicle approached the victims at 1005 5th St. SE, across the street from Capper Recreation Center.

The suspects opened fire, shooting the teen boy three times and the man once in the leg before taking off, police said.

Both victims were conscious and breathing when medics took them to the hospital, police said. There has been no update on their condition.

It is not clear how many shooters were in the vehicle, or where the shooter or shooters went after the men were hit.

Officers found two weapons and shell casings, including casings from a rifle, in front of the recreation center after the shooting, police said.
