A teenage girl and her infant son are missing from their home in Montgomery County, police say.

Wendy Orvelina Hernandez, 15, and her two-month-old son, Jason Hernandez, were last seen Tuesday morning, police said Thursday. Hernandez took the baby and left their home on Valleywood Drive in Wheaton on foot, according to police. In the two days that have passed, her family has been unable to reach her.

Hernandez is 4-foot-11 and weighs 130 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. Her infant son also has dark hair and dark eyes. A photo distributed by police shows the smiling teen holding her crying baby.

Police are concerned about their welfare. Anyone with information on the mother and son's whereabouts is asked to call police at 301-279-8000, or 240-773-5400. Callers may remain anonymous.
