LAUREL, Md. -- A 16-year-old girl was attacked by an apparent sexual assailant as she walked to school in Laurel Tuesday morning, police said.
The victim was walking to Laurel High School at about 7:50 a.m. along a path near White Way and Harrison Drive when she heard footsteps and was touched inappropriately from behind, police said. She turned and saw a man who allegedly grabbed her by the throat.
The girl struggle with the man and screamed and managed to get away, police said. The man ran to a silver or gray mid-size, four-door car.
The girl only gave a vague description of her attacker.
