Montgomery County police arrested a 15-year-old boy Monday in an August rape at an Olney playground.
Police received a tip fingering Alvick Omenga in the rape of a 22-year-old woman near Wagonwheel Court early Aug. 5. Investigators obtained a warrant and got a DNA sample that matched, police said.
The victim told police she was getting out of her car near her home about 1 a.m. when her attacker approached her, grabbed her by the neck and forced her to a playground, where he allegedly raped her.
Omenga had told his friends that it’s OK to rape, that people get away with it all the time, according to court documents.
Prosecutors said he confessed and wrote a letter of apology to the victim.
Omenga is charged as an adult with first-degree rape and attempted robbery. He was ordered held on $5 million bond.
Police also are investigating Omenga in several street robberies, authorities said.
