Amtrak service has been restored between Philadelphia and Baltimore following overhead wire problems Tuesday morning.
Service along that stretch was suspended for about an hour and a half Tuesday; limited service then resumed. Full service was restored around 8 a.m., but riders were told to expect residual delays.
Amtrak service was suspended between the two cities for more than two hours Tuesday morning because of a problem with power lines south of Wilmington, Del., said Amtrak spokesperson Vernae Graham.
During repairs, Amtrak ran diesel locomotives through the area. The first train, a Northeast Regional train, was delayed by about three hours.
MARC service is also available for those trying to travel between Maryland and D.C.
