T-Shirt Memorial Remembers 205 Gun Violence Victims

A display of colored T-shirts with the names, ages, and dates of death for victims of shootings in the Washington, D.C., area hopes to bring attention to the high price of crime violence.

Called the Memorial to the Lost, the display features 205 shirts with the names of those killed in D.C., Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland, and Northern Virginia in 2016. It is being shown on the ground of Temple Sinai, located at 3100 Military Road, Northwest, in Washington.

Among those being remembered are Prince William County police Officer Ashlen Guidon, who was killed while responding to a domestic dispute on her first day with the police department.

There were also shirts for NeShante Davis and her 2-year-old daughter, Chole, who were shot and killed outside a Fort Washington, Maryland, apartment.

The memorial will be on the temple grounds until Oct. 1.
