The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating the homicide of a 61-year-old woman.
Sgt. Jennifer Bailey said Tuesday that the body of Gloria Fitzpatrick was found Monday afternoon by a family member in her apartment on Rooks Court in Frederick after she didn't show up for work.
An autopsy revealed significant trauma that was not visible to detectives at the scene, according to the sheriff's office. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.
There was no sign of forced entry into Fitzpatrick's apartment, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators do not believe the homicide was random.
Investigators would like to hear from anyone with information about Fitzpatrick or her death.
