Suspicious Devices Found in Md. Home After Eviction

A bomb squad was sent to a District Heights, Md., home after a real estate agent found what appeared to be two pipe bombs in the basement.

The real estate agent went to the house to inspect it Wednesday afternoon. The residents of the two story red-brick single family home in the 5800 block of Kentucky Avenue had recently been evicted, Prince George's County Fire and EMS spokesman Mark Brady said.

The real estate agent called authorities. The bomb squad was called at about 3 p.m.

Authorities could not see inside to determine whether or not it was a real bomb or a fake one, so the bomb squad disrupted it to render it safe, News4's Aaron Gilchrist reported. A substance inside the devices will be taken to a lab to determine if it is explosive, authorities said.
