Police in Fairfax County, Virginia say a suspicious death in the county has been deemed a homicide.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 6000 block of Belleview Drive in the Culmore area about 2 a.m. Monday.

There, they found the body of 27-year-old Filaberto Felipe Paz, of the 6000 block of Knollwood Drive. Police say Paz had upper body trauma.

"We cannot eliminate the possibility that this is a random act, so we do urge the neighborhood to be on-guard," Officer Bud Walker with Fairfax County Police said.

Neighbors say the relationship between them and local police is strained.

"There's no good communication," Luis Aguilar said.

The victim's family in Guatemala has been notified.

Anyone with information about the death should call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131 or contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477, online or by texting “TIP187” plus the tip to CRIMES/274637.
