Suspected Pipe Bombs Found in Loudoun County

Three devices discovered on Saturday

Sheriff deputies discovered three devices believed to be pipe bombs next to a bridge in Loudoun County on Saturday.

Investigators said the devices were located along Algonkian Parkway around 10 a.m.  One of the devices was intact and the two others already detonated when found by law enforcement.

Fire fighters, deputies, and the joint Explosive Ordinance Disposal team all responded, and rendered the remaining device safe.

The sheriff's office said no evacuations were necessary because of the remote location of the devices, and because of the composition of the devices.

Any person with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office at (703) 737-8600.
