Police Identify Man Believed to Have Sexually Assaulted Woman He Followed From Metro

The man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman near the New Carollton Metro station has been identified.

According to the Prince George's County Police, detectives from the Sexual Assault Unit identified the suspect as 24-year-old Jahahree Chester of no fixed address.

Chester is charged with first- and second-degree sex offense and first- and second-degree assault and related charges.

He is being held without bond.

The assault happened about 6:45 a.m. Thursday near the 4000 block of Garden City Drive in Landover, Maryland. Prince George's County Police say the suspect and victim did not know each other and believe that he followed her from the Metro station to an office building, where the assault occurred.
