Suspect Arrested in Connection With College Park Robberies

Prince George's County Police are searching for 2 more suspects

Prince George's County Police investigating a series of robberies in College Park have one suspect in custody thanks to the help of surveillance video.

That same video shows there are at least two other suspects still on the loose, according to investigators.

Prince George's County Police arrested 19-year-old Chenor Jah of Silver Spring. Police said Jah and two other suspects robbed a University of Maryland student in the 7200 block of Baltimore Avenue on August 8. This was one of several robberies that have plagued the College Park area since school began this year.

Most of the victims have been UMd. students and the robberies have all happened off campus in the early-morning hours. The robbers are violent, sometimes involving weapons, and police are not connecting all of them to the same group of suspects.

Police have warned students to avoid walking alone and putting themselves in vulnerable positions, particularly between the hours of 2-4 a.m. during what police are calling "crime time."
