Surprise, Surprise: More Problems for Metro

Another morning full of delays

Another day, another morning full of Metro delays.

Riders had yet another incovenient commute because of problems on the tracks. We can tell from here how shocked you are.

The problems began with the Blue and Yellow Lines between National Airport and Crystal City. There were two derailments of a piece of track equipment called a speed swing vehicle. The machine caused some minor damage to the tracks the first time it derailed. Trains had to share a single track until around 7 a.m., when repairs were made.

The headaches continued on the Green Line, where trains shared a single track between Naylor Road and Southern Avenue. A cracked rail was discovered around 7:30 a.m., which caused delays of up to 20 minute.

Have a great workday, everyone! See you at evening rush hour.
