Student Takes Gun, Knife to Virginia High School

A Virginia high school student is facing weapons charges after taking a gun and a knife to school.

Joshua Matthew Aguilar, 18, of Woodbridge, took a handgun to Pope John Paul the Great Catholic High School in Dumfries Thursday morning and showed it to another student, police said. The other student reported it to school staff.

The staff confiscated the gun before police arrived. Aguilar also possessed a knife, police said.

He is charged with possession of a firearm on school property and possession of a weapon (knife) on school property and is being held without bond.
