Strong Winds, Rain Makes for Messy Commute

Hold on to your hat! We're in for a very windy day.

The D.C. area could see wind gusts as strong as 40 to 50 mph until noon Friday. And while the region won't see a lot of rain, the rain could be heavy at times. Storm Team4 meteorologist Chuck Bell warns that winds that strong could bring down a few small branches, decorations and lots of leaves.

Wind advisories have been issued for parts of western Maryland and Virginia until noon.

Drivers should be careful, as wet leaves can be slippery,  but the rain will be gone by the afternoon, leaving breezy conditions and mild temperatures. Friday's high will be in the mid 70s.

The weekend will be breezy and cooler with plenty of clouds. Highs Saturday will be in the mid 60s, with highs only in the mid to upper 50s on Sunday.
