Storms expected to continue through the D.C. area.

Keep your umbrella handy through Tuesday evening if you plan on heading outside!

Summer-like weather is taking a break as a cold front continues to move through the D.C. area mid-week.

Strong storms with heavy downpours and lightning have already passed through Fairfax and likely will  move out of the area around 6 p.m., according to Storm Team4 Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer.

Between the storms, it will be a hot and humid Tuesday afternoon with a high temperature of 86.

A few areas could see more showers into the evening hours, but nothing too severe is expected later in the day.

Rainy and partly cloudy weather is also in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday before clearing up this weekend.
