A son was charged in connection with the stabbing death of his mother in Charles County, Maryland.
Detectives with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mario Marchell Dunn, 32, of Waldorf, Maryland. Dunn was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, assault and other charges in the death of his mother, Swanda Ruegenea Dunn, 57, of Waldorf.
Police said Mario Dunn is accused of stabbing his mother to death while they were driving home from a relative’s house. They said after the stabbing, Mario Dunn removed his mother from the vehicle and left her on Old Washington Road in Waldorf.
Mario Dunn was arrested on Jan. 11. Police said they searched Swanda Dunn’s home and found evidence linking him to the crime.
