‘So If I Were to Kill the President …': Man Breaches Security Outside White House

Suspect listed as fugitive after missing court appearance

A Pennsylvania man who crossed police tape outside the White House said “So if I were to kill the president …” while in police custody Friday, according to court documents.

Juan Carlos Colon Felix went under yellow police tape on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House and walked toward a U.S. Secret Service officer, according to court documents.

The officer asked him what he was doing, but the man continued to the approach the officer, repeatedly saying, “I’m sorry,” according to court documents. The officer demanded he stop and put his hands behind his back and Felix complied and did not resist arrest.

“God told me to come,” he said.

While officers were taking him to the Metropolitan Police Department for processing, he made the comment about the president but didn’t finish his sentence, according to court documents.

His car was found in the 1600 block of H Street NW with the engine still running.
