Annapolis Ponders Adding Speed Cams

Annapolis considering speed cameras

Annapolis is considering installing speed cameras near schools and perhaps road construction zones.

Alderman and police officer Mathew Silverman said bringing cameras to Annapolis would not cost the city any money if the right contractor is selected.

The cameras would probably be on tripods and portable.

The cameras must be approved by the City Council. Mayor Josh Cohen said he is undecided on the issue.

Annapolis Police Chief Michael Pristoop will brief the public safety committee on the issue Tuesday night.
