Six Arrested in Home Burglary Spree in Montgomery County

Montgomery County Police announced arrests Thursday in a series of home burglaries in a North Potomac neighborhood beginning May 2012.

David Cho, 19; Tita Fontava, 21; and Ernest Jeffreys, 20, are among the six facing burglary charges for allegedly breaking into more than 30 homes and stealing more than $100,000 worth of property. Police did not identify the other three underage suspects, who are between 16 and 17 years old.

Police caught up with the suspects Jan. 8 after neighbors near Dufief Mill Road and Lake Winds Way reported hearing suspicious knocks on doors. That's when officers found four of the suspects in a car nearby, police said.

Two of the suspects, Cho and Jeffreys, are out on bond. Fontava is still being held on bond. Investigators are still working on the case and say they've recovered about $45,000 worth of stolen property from the suspects so far.
