Single-Engine Plane Lands in Creek

A pilot is safe after landing a single-engine plane in a creek, according to a Queen Anne’s County official.

The plane had engine trouble after taking off from Bay Bridge Airport around noon on Thursday, Emergency Services spokesman Kevin Aftung said. The plane couldn't make it back to the airport, and the pilot landed in nearby Broad Creek.

The pilot, who was alone on the plane, was able to walk ashore, Aftung said. He refused treatment from medics.
