Shooting at Vigil in Landover Hills

Man shot while attending a candlelight vigil

A man was shot Friday night while attending a candlelight vigil in Landover Hills, Md.

He was transported to a hospital, but not by authorities, reports NBC4's Erika Gonzalez. Prince George's County Police received a call around 9:40 p.m.

Witnesses say the victim was getting out of his car when someone approached him and fired several shots from a moving vehicle. He is currently in critical condition.

The vigil was being held to remember a man named Rigo who had died of cancer while in jail. The incident happened in a small park called the Triangle, in the 4700 block of 68th Avenue.
