The mother of a five-year-old Woodbridge, Va., girl was arrested after the little girl woke to find herself home alone and summoned police to come get her.
Shameka Shanta Daniels, 26, is charged with child neglect.
Prince William County Police say they arrived to get Daniels' daughter from their home around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. The girl had woken up and couldn't find her mother, so she dialed random phone numbers until she spoke to someone who told her to call 911, authorities said.
Daniels contacted authorities after arriving home at 2:55 a.m. to report her child was missing. Authorities said she had been out since 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The little girl was released to the custody of another family member.
Daniels' court date is unknown.
