Victim in Cold Case Sex Assault Speaks Out

A Wheaton, Md. woman said she still gets flashbacks six years after being sexually assaulted and raped.

The victim, 18 at the time, said she was walking near the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Randolph Road -- down the road from a police station -- when she heard someone come up behind her and ask her for a pen. She said the man kept getting closer, eventually placing a gun at her side and pushing her into a car.

There were two men in the backseat of the car, in addition to the one that had attacked her outside.

"I think they were drunk or something because I saw a lot of bottles [inside the car]," the victim told News4, wishing to remain anonymous.

She said the men taped her eyes shut, then drove her to a parking lot and raped her.

"Sometimes I wish I could lose my memory and just forget about it," she told News4. "I don't want this to happen to any other girl or woman. It's painful."

After the attack, then men dropped her off on the side of the road where she said another woman came to her rescue and called police.

Two of the men were captured on surveillance video shortly after, using the victim's debit card at a Silver Spring, Md. ATM.

"I don't lose my hope that they will get caught," she said.

If you have any information on the incident or any idea who the men are, call Montgomery County Police at 240-773-TIPS.
