Alexandria's attempt to fix one problem has led to another.
A generator being used to clean up a sewage spill is keeping neighbors awake at night.
The generator is set up along Holmes Run - just off Van Dorn Street.
Two sanitary sewer lines broke last week, and the generators are running pumps to clean up the mess.
Sewage officials said they plan to get silent generators for the pumps as soon as possible. They estimate it could take anywhere between 3 to 6 weeks to repair the broken pipes.
