Several warming centers have opened in parts of D.C. and Maryland to help residents cope with the dangerously cold weather that's moving into the region.

A wind chill advisory has been issued for the D.C. area for Thursday morning. Wind chill temperatures could fall to 10 degrees below zero during that time.

Storm Team4 meteorologist Amelia Segal says residents should be prepared for chilly temperatures through at least Friday.

Snow showers and squalls are also expected to fall across the metro area Wednesday afternoon and evening.
