Bus struck by front-end loader

Several people were injured when a front-end loader struck a Metrobus in northeast D.C. Tuesday afternoon.

The front-end loader punctured a hole in the side of the bus in the 1100 block of N. Capital Street NE near New York Avenue, officials said.

Police blocked the roadway for a while to treat the injured.

Five people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and a sixth suffered very serious injuries but is expected to be OK. All six were taken to area hospitals.
