Server Problem Affects Some Area Cox Internet Customers

Customers in Fairfax County, Fredericksburg lose service

A nationwide issue with a DNS server is causing some Internet outages for some Cox customers in Virginia, the provider said Wednesday evening.

At most 10 percent of customers in Fairfax County and Fredericksburg are affected by the issue, Cox said.

Full service is expected to be restored Wednesday night.

Cox advised affected customers to unplug from the modem and let it recycle for two minutes. That should restore service.
