Senior Releases 150 Crickets in High School: Police

An alleged senior prank resulted in charges against at least one Maryland teen.

Jinhan Kim, 18, of Waldorf, was accused of breaking into his school and releasing dozens of crickets, according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office.

Kim entered Thomas Stone High School late Tuesday through a window he had unlocked earlier that day and then emptied a bag of about 150 crickets he had ordered online onto the floor, according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office. He left the school and went to his car near a wooded area, where suspicious people had been reported to the sheriff's office.

Kim is charged with burglary and possessing burglary tools, because officers found a screwdriver in his pocket.

Authorities are investigating if two others with him were involved.
