Secret Service Recovers Colombian Ambassador's Stolen Computer

An official with the Colombian embassy in Washington said Ambassador Carolina Barco's laptop computer was stolen but the ambassador wasn't harmed during a burglary of her D.C. residence.

Barco heard someone in her Dupont Circle home Monday morning and called police after she believed the man she saw had left, according to an embassy staffer. Barco reported the burglary early Monday to the Secret Service and its agents caught the suspects and recovered the computer, according to an embassy news release.

The embassy staffer says a window was broken and someone rummaged through Barco's home, but the ambassador didn't interact with anyone.

A spokesman for the Secret Service says a man and a woman were arrested and charged with burglary in the incident.
